The Orange Tip (Anthocharis cardamines) is a striking butterfly species notable for its vibrant orange coloration and distinctive wing pattern. Both males and females feature white wings with black veining, but only the males display the brilliant orange tips on their forewings, which are visible when the wings are open or closed. With a wingspan typically ranging from 3.5 to 5 centimeters, the Orange Tip is relatively small but easily recognizable, especially during the spring when it emerges from its pupa. This species is commonly found in open habitats such as meadows, fields, and woodland edges across Europe and parts of Asia. As pollinators, Orange Tips play a vital role in ecosystem health and are a delight to encounter in gardens and natural landscapes during the warmer months.
